ABOUT
Welcome!
Kate Mershon, RDN, CD
Hi! I’m Kate, a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and the founder of Seed & Sow Nutrition.
I became a dietitian because I love food! However, I know how overwhelming nutrition can feel — the conflicting advice, the pressure to eat “perfectly,” the guilt when things don’t go as planned. I care deeply about helping people step out of that stress and into a place of clarity, confidence, and peace with food.
I earned my degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from Utah State University and completed my supervised practice through Garden to Table Nutrition. My training gave me a strong foundation in evidence-based care, but it’s my work with real people that has shaped how I practice today: collaboratively and compassionately.
My Approach
Nutrition isn’t about extremes or chasing the latest trend. It’s about building sustainable habits that fit your life.
My work is:
- Evidence-based — rooted in research, not fads
- Individualized — your life, preferences, and goals matter
- Collaborative — we work together, not top-down
- Inclusive & non-diet focused — no shame, no restriction-driven strategies
I believe small, consistent changes create lasting growth — just like tending a garden.
Who I Work With
I support individuals who want to:
- Feel less overwhelmed by nutrition information
- Improve their relationship with food
- Support performance and fueling
- Navigate pregnancy or postpartum nutrition
- Manage blood sugar, digestion, or other health markers
- Build habits that actually last
While I have particular interest in pregnancy/postpartum and performance nutrition, I work with individuals across many life stages and goals.
Outside of Work
Beyond my passion for nutrition, I love to go on bike rides with my husband and daughter, trail run, garden, and share good food with the people I love.
