Add, Don’t Overhaul: A Simple Way to Feel More Energized This Spring

As the world wakes up from winter, does anyone else feel an added sense of urgency? It’s almost like the natural world around us is growing and blooming, so we should be, too. When we get into this mindset, nutrition can go one of two ways:

  • It falls to the wayside completely, or
  • We try to “perfect” our eating

What if we met in the middle this spring?

Instead of overhauling our diet, what if we simply added a bit of nutrition to our day?

Why You Feel Low Energy Between Meals

Here’s one of the common patterns I see (that maybe you relate to):

You get busy with the bustle of the day, and find it’s been 4, maybe 5 hours since you last ate.

At this point, it’s not unusual to feel:

  • Brain fog
  • Low energy
  • Irritability (aka “hangry”)

And naturally, your body starts to look for quick energy, often in the form of the candy bowl, the chocolate in the pantry, or the nearest drive-thru.

This isn’t a lack of willpower, it’s your body doing what it’s supposed to.

A Simple Way to Stay Energized Throughout Your Day

A simple trick to support your energy, mood, and focus?

Add nutrition.

Simply adding a balanced snack before you hit that 4-5 hour mark can make a huge difference in how you feel.

This small habit can help you

  • Avoid energy crashes
  • Reduce intense cravings
  • Feel more steady and focused

If you’ve ever wondered how to stay energized during the day, this is one of the most effective (and overlooked) places to start.

Doing this can help you avoid that intense energy crash, and the “eat everything in sight” feeling that often follows.

Easy, Healthy Snack Ideas for Steady Energy

And before you go looking for the perfect supplement or superfood to give you that energy boost you’re seeking, try going back to the basics and opting for simple and cheap (yet delicious) snacks. Here are some favorite snack ideas:

  • Apple slices + cheese
  • Hummus + veggies
  • Popcorn with parmesan
  • Yogurt + seeds
  • Pretzels + peanut butter
  • Whole grain crackers + a boiled egg
Small Changes Lead to Big Results

Small, simple changes like this often lead to the biggest results. Health does not have to feel difficult – in fact, it’s possible for us to cultivate wellness from the tiniest seeds – habits that fit your life and feel good

Try adding some nutrition to your day this week, and notice what shifts. You might find that adding a simple snack helps you feel more steady, more energized, and more able to enjoy the best parts of life – and that’s always the goal.

Happy snacking!
